Mayor Teddy Milner officially declared Saturday, April 27 as PICKLEBALL DAY IN AIKEN! And did we celebrate!

The Southern Spring Classic Pickleball Tournament at Houndslake Country Club was the place to celebrate Aiken Pickleball Day. The match play was superb and players fought hard for each point.

The morning started with the 2.5 Coed Breakfast Scramble. Gold medal winner was Rachel Faub, silver was Allie Hough, and Lona Kelly took home the Bronze.

Next up were the 3.0 Mixed Doubles matches. Through double elimination play, Gold medal winners were Jeffrey Rovenpor and Glory Lynch, Silver winners were Andrea Motley Crabtree and Robert Tant, and Bronze winners were Daphne and Gerry Owen.

The tournament concluded with the 3.5 Mixed Doubles, again via double elimination matches. Brother and sister duo Drew and Ellie Fahrbach finished the day with Gold medals, Tammy Pruitt and Jerry Mershon with Silver, and Becky Lash and Davion Ballinger won Bronze.
