We’re thrilled to announce that Paul Turner has joined the Southern Pickleball Academy Board of Directors!
Paul is a familiar face on the pickleball courts — a skilled player with a love for the game and a heart for helping others. His competitive spirit comes from a lifetime in sports, from swimming and golf to cycling and, of course, pickleball. But it’s not just his athletic talent that makes him such a great fit for our team — Paul also brings decades of business experience and a deep commitment to serving under-resourced youth and young adults.

Before retiring to Windsor, SC, Paul built an impressive career in sales, marketing, and business development. He started at IBM, where he quickly became the top new account salesman in his region, and later founded Telemark, a leading business-to-business marketing firm serving some of the biggest names in technology. Over the years, Paul has guided countless companies toward sustainable growth — and now, he’s ready to bring that same expertise to help Southern Pickleball Academy grow and thrive.
Even in “retirement,” Paul hasn’t slowed down. He’s continued mentoring young professionals, supporting nonprofits like the African American Historic Preservation Foundation, and helping organizations like Hopeworks equip young people with career and life skills. His passion for empowering the next generation aligns perfectly with SPA’s mission.
When Paul’s not volunteering or playing pickleball, you might find him swimming, lifting weights, cycling, or improving his golf game. He and his wife, Tracey — an accomplished equestrian competitor — have called South Carolina home for several years.
We’re excited for the energy, insight, and heart Paul brings to the board. Please join us in giving him a warm Academy welcome!
